Osaka is located at the mouth of the Yodo River in the Kansai region of Japan. Osaka is a significant commercial part of Japan, and currently the heart of Japan’s second largest metropolitan area of Osaka-Kobe-Kyoto, with a population of over 17 million. Osaka is widely considered the gourmet food capital of Japan.
